Daily Life of Teens and Young People

Highschool Children

Growing Up, Curiosity and Rite of Passage

One of life’s rite of passage is when we transition from childhood to adulthood, moving into a type of changed identity and the next stage of life.

Life Skills and Responsibilities
Learning essential life skills is an important process for young adults.  A range of information and resources at the Young People Hub are available online to support you becoming a young adult – from health, moving out of home, education and money.

Routines, Goals, Boundaries and Self-Care

Have a plan for your life and your future.  Minds and bodies are reactive to only do what we ‘feel like’ doing. Set yourself a good routine to include exercise and movement, nutrition and self-care strategies to manage your health and wellbeing. Take a break from social media, listen to music or spend time with quality friends to relax and reset.

Money and Budgeting
Daily living expenses can add up, and unexpected bills can pop up.  Get prepared with a range of great tools for young adults on how to budget, budget planner and financial help.

E-Safety - Social Media, Cyberbullying and Image-Based Abuse
Resources are now available on how to navigate the world of social media – with ReachOut Parents partnering with Instagram Australia to show you how to help your teen stay safe and happy on social media with the Parent’s Guide to Instagram

Learn more about what you can do if you have experienced cyberbullying or image-based abuse with the Australian based e-safety website.
