Topics in the book cover social media, personal safety online, the legal system, education, consent and pornography.

Respectful Relationships

 

A key part of having a successful relationship is treating ourselves and others with respect. Learning how to build a respectful relationship is an important step of adolescence and identify the different types of respect.  Here are some key points about respectful relationships for teens, what do they look like and navigating a disrespectful relationship. 


The ‘Violence Against Women – Let’s Stop it at the Start’ campaign aims to help break the cycle of violence by encouraging adults to reflect on their attitudes and have conversations about respect with young people.


The campaign is aimed at parents and family members of children aged 10–17, as well as the teachers, coaches, community leaders and employers of young people.


What’s Okay at Home is an initiative from the organisation Safe and Equal, providing resources to help people understand what family violence is, and how to help those experiencing it.
